The Fall 2006 TV Line-up - Hit or Miss?
While it's always a shame to see the end of summer, we can console ourselves about the drawing in of the nights with the great new shows in the fall TV lineup. While brand new shows can often be hit and miss, here's a few time-tested greats that are guaranteed to please.
Desperate Housewives
In an effort to recapture the magic that first made Housewives popular, Executive Producer Marc Cherry (who wrote the first season's episodes) will return to take control of the show. Hopefully, his scripts will help drag Housewives back from last season's slump.
Prison Break
Following the enormous success of the first season, Wentworth Miller returns as Michael Schofield, this time pursued by FBI agent Buck Mahone (Invasion's William Fitchner). The question that will be answered this season is whether the show can survive outside the prison walls.
Smallville
Hot on the heels of Superman Returns, young Clark Kent is back -- and he's bringing new characters along for the ride. The new season will see the introduction of Jimmy Olsen, rumored to be Chloe Sullivan's new love interest. Also appearing is the comic book hero Green Arrow.
Lost
In a departure from the previous seasons, the third series will focus more heavily on the "Others", revealing more about their history and organization. Fans will expect the resolution of many questions raised in the first two seasons -- but, of course, if the third season is true to form then one answer will only spawn two more questions.
The O.C.
Reaching that difficult point faced by all teenage soap operas, this season The O.C. must tackle the problems raised by the character's moving on to college -- in Summer's case, as far as Rhode Island. Whether the show will be able to maintain its popularity will depend on the inventiveness of its writers and producers.
House, M.D.
Doctor Gregory House returns for a third season this fall, after being close to death from a gunshot wound in the season two finale. Will he survive? Will his bedside manner improve? Will he ever get together with the gorgeous Dr. Allison Cameron? We'll just have to wait and see!
As always, we can only hope that these returning shows will continue to entertain us as they have in the past. At the same time, we must hope that the TV studios have a few ideas up their sleeves for new shows, or they'll start to lose those all-important ratings and advertising dollars.

Babe Ruth Quotes
Some quotes that The Babe said and what some other people had to say about Babe Ruth.
"The way a team plays as a whole determines its success. You may have the greatest bunch of individual stars in the world, but if they don't play together, the club won't be worth a dime."
Babe Ruth
In August 1948, Ruth died of throat cancer and lay in state at Yankee Stadium, the baseball cathedral built on the fruits of his work. Ruth's funeral took place on a day of such heat that pallbearer and former teammate Joe Dugan said, "I'd give a hundred dollars for a beer." The old pitcher Waite Hoyt replied in Ruth's spirit: "So would the Babe."
by Mark Maxon
"I had a better year than he did."
Babe Ruth, when told that President Hoover made less than the $80,000 he was demanding in 1930.
"Hotter 'n hell, ain't it, Prez?"
Babe Ruth, after meeting Calvin Coolidge
This next group of quotes was made by Babe Ruth
?I have only one superstition. I touch all the bases when I hit a home run.?
All I can tell them is pick a good one and sock it. I get back to the dugout and they ask me what it was I hit and I tell them ?I don't know except it looked good.?
?As soon as I got out there I felt a strange relationship with the pitcher's mound. It was as if I'd been born out there. Pitching just felt like the most natural thing in the world. Striking out batters was easy.?
?Don't let the fear of striking out hold you back.?
?How to hit home runs: I swing as hard as I can, and I try to swing right through the ball... The harder you grip the bat, the more you can swing it through the ball, and the farther the ball will go. I swing big, with everything I've got. I hit big or I miss big. I like to live as big as I can.?
?I won't be happy until we have every boy in America between the ages of six and sixteen wearing a glove and swinging a bat.?
"Every strike brings me closer to the next home run."
The following quotes were made by teammates, a broadcaster and an opponent
"No one hit home runs the way Babe did. They were something special. They were like homing pigeons. The ball would leave the bat, pause briefly, suddenly gain its bearings then take off for the stands."
Lefty Gomez
"To understand him you had to understand this: he wasn't human."
Teammate Joe Dugan
"Every big leaguer and his wife should teach their children to pray, "God bless Mommy, God bless Daddy, and God bless Babe Ruth."
Waite Hoyt
"He wasn't a baseball player. He was a worldwide celebrity, an international star, the likes of which baseball has never seen since."
Broadcaster Ernie Harwell
"He came up again in the ninth. I was a little mad. I told my catcher, Tommy Padden, he was not good enough to hit my fastball. I came through with a fastball for strike one. I missed with the second. The next pitch I nodded to Tommy. I was going to throw the ball past Mr. Ruth. It was on the outside corner. As he went around third, Ruth gave me the hand sign meaning 'to hell with you.' He was better than me. He was the best that ever lived. That big joker hit it clear out of the park for his third home run of the game. It was the longest homer I'd ever seen in baseball." -- Guy Bush of the Pittsburgh Pirates on giving up Ruth's last home run (it was the first to clear the right field grandstand at Forbes Field and some estimated the distance at 600 feet.) Quoted in Bush's "Sporting News" obituary after his death.

How Can Aromatherapy Help You?
Fundamentally, Aromatherapy has been used throughout the ages.
The Egyptian priests known as the Kemites had made the connection between plant oils and human healing. Scents also opened the nasal and bronchial cavity of excess mucus and other bacterial rich environment so that the patient could recover faster. Anticeptics were used to heal deep puncture wounds, blisters. Certain emolients were also used on the skin to prevent scarring. I think we have to look to the ancients that had learned the healing properties of their world to aid us in finding our balance in today's world.
The term Aromatherapy came into being in the modern world by a French chemist, Ren頍aurice Gattefoss頷ho accidentially discovered the outstanding healing property of lavendar oil for severe burns.
Here is a brief overiew of plants and their normal use:
Basil - relieves severe headaches, do not use during pregnancy.
Bergamot - aids the urinary tract and digestion, when taken topically can aid in relieving cold sores and chicken pox, also a natural insect repellant.
Black Pepper - stimulates the circulation.
Lemongrass - perfume and insect repellant
Eucalyptus - natural and very strong anticeptic, use with care can be toxic.
Sage - helps digest fats in diet, removes waste from intestines, and when used topically darkens white hair.
Clove - used as an analgesic for pain relief.
Lavendar oil - topical antiseptic use, aids in severe burns, has a calming effect on the nerves when inhaled
Yarrow root - reduces joint pain, and other inflammations including the common cold.
Jasmine - known as an aphrodisiac
Remember, much of our modern medicine comes concentrating the already potent nature of plants, roots, herbs and many things found in nature, which can cause deadly side effects very often if directions are not followed carefully.
There are of course precaustions to follow in Aromatherapy, however, there are factors that make it very enjoyable, easy to obtain, and the satisfaction of quick and natural relief available. You may already know of some home remedies that worked and are passed down from family history. If it worked then, it should still work now.
Modern medicine does have it place for severe complications and illness, however, you can do something to aid healing from diseases and discomforts. Unfortunately, modern medicine does not see eye-to-eye with Aromatherapy, yet our forefathers did leave a record of plants and their uses to help with rashes. soothing nerves as well as aiding our bodies natural defenses to combat illness.
Now that being said, essential oils have to be used with care. Toxic reactions such as rashes, liver damage, and/or seizures can result depending on family history. Therefore every batch of essential oil must be mixed with one of the listed carrier oils to prevent this from happening. Carrier oils such as sweet almond oil, jojoba oil, olive oil, and hazelnut oil.
